On November 30, 2023, KC IMAGINE and KC Digital Drive hosted the 2023 KC Digital Media Academy Career Summit at the Westport Commons Plexpod. This was the first ever conference of this nature in Kansas City

KC IMAGINE and KC Digital Drive are working together to host a youth career conference on November 30th for KC area students who are enrolled in digital media academy programs.

A networking fair is a large informal gathering that encourages professionals to connect with each other in a casual, after-hours session where food and drink is available and where guest exhibitors bring something to show and share.

The Kansas City Institute for Media, Animation & Graphic Innovation in Education (KC IMAGINE) has been offering networking fairs through its DIGITAL SCENE – KC program, and frankly, we are quite surprised by how popular these events have been for us. That popularity is due to several factors:

Currently KC IMAGINE has 15 regional universities that are interested in collaborating to find ways to meet the educational and training needs of KC’s digital media industry. Many schools need opportunities for their students to experience internships and apprenticeships with KC area digital media firms. Ultimately KC IMAGINE wants to support job placement for all who receive educational programming in digital media. The renovated Laugh-O-gram building will offer training programs for K-12 students through digiSTORY KC and advanced training and workforce development through KC IMAGINE’s college partners that offer continuing education and degree programs.

The KC IMAGINE program of digiSTORY KC is excited to announce its new series of networking events for digital media professionals: DIGITAL SCENE KC. We are also excited to announce that KC Digital Drive will be sponsoring this series and supporting us in offering and promoting the program events.
